This session from the Northwest Regional Palliative Care Program explored culturally relevant approaches to dementia care for Indigenous seniors and Elders.
It covered the principles of cultural safety, trauma-informed care and collaboration with Indigenous families, communities, Elders, and Knowledge Carriers. Participants gained insights into creating respectful and inclusive care plans that address the impacts of historical and ongoing trauma.
