This session was held on February 26, 2024.
This Palliative Care ECHO session provided an overview of the Canadian Atlas of Palliative Care project, showcasing the results of the pilot study in the Central East region of Ontario.
Historically, no mechanism has existed to consolidate data on palliative care services resulting in a limited ability to understand or respond to significant variations in many areas of palliative care, from access to service integration and education. Atlases provide a visual representation of the status of palliative care, mapping out existing strengths, areas of excellence, and gaps. They help to identify benchmarks for excellence to scale and spread, empowering leadership to improve the overall health care systems.
The webinar utilized the pilot results from the Central East Region of Ontario to help participants understand the Atlas approach, sources of data utilized, and implications for health care systems.
